Bromsgrove councillor vows to push changes for parents to have a vote on academy conversion

Bromsgrove District Councillor, Peter McDonald has backed a parent campaign for open and democratic consultation on academy conversion at Waseley High School and has vowed to push changes for parents to have a vote on their children’s schools becoming academies.

Parent Cormac Loane has been fighting to achieve meaningful consultation on academy conversion for the Waseley school community. Mr Loane has been critical of the consultation process conducted to date and continues to campaign for a  consultation that meets the legal requirements that apply whenever any public body consults.

Mr Loane has been allowed to address other parents about his concerns at a parent  forum event at the school on Tuesday (May 22) at 7pm.  Check out the Campaigns  page to sign a petition and for details of how parents can get in touch with Mr Loane’s campaign.
